Welcome! My name is Heather and I am so glad you are here.

Frazier + Wing is my made-to-order clothing collection that is designed, cut and sewn in my Portland, Oregon studio. Luxurious natural fabrics such as cotton, silk, wool and linen are my fabrics of choice because they feel good on the body and have a lower environmental impact than synthetic materials.

I am inspired by the old school way of having ones clothes made by a dressmaker or tailor. I am also inspired by the slow and sustainable fashion movement. No method of apparel production is without environmental impact and waste, but I think it is worthwhile and important work to create or reestablish more sustainable business models within the fashion and apparel industry.

The made-to-order model is one alternative to overproduction and waste in the fashion industry. Making only what I actually sell minimizes waste of resources. This model also encourages intentional shopping habits by retraining us to slow down and enjoy the process of having something made just for you by an individual dedicated to a craft.

Designs remain in the collection over many seasons with fabrications changing with the weather. New pieces are designed and developed according to inspiration rather than being dictated by a fashion calendar.  I strive to make garments of the highest quality in fit, fabric and construction that will be treasured and worn over a long period of time.

Comfortable dresses are the foundation of the collection, because I love the ease of one piece dressing. The understated designs are meant to be versatile: beautiful when worn simply as an expression of minimal style or as a foundation to a more maximal look. Our beautiful model Greta is lovely and young, but rest assured the clothes are meant for women of all ages and are offered in sizes XSmall through XLarge.

Frazier + Wing was established in 2008 and was born from my love of design, color, textiles, art and making things. From 2008 - 2015, I was focused on designing and producing decorative mobiles. In 2016, I turned my attention to designing and making clothing.

In addition to being a life long sewer, I studied Apparel Design at FIDM in San Francisco. I also owned a retail store in San Francisco where I sold high end contemporary clothing collections. It was there that I gained extensive experience dressing a wide range of customers, which informed my design instincts and deepened my understanding of fit and quality construction.

My business is named for my parents, Truman Frazier and Nancy Wing who supported and nurtured my creative impulses from a young age.
